Brother Dasham is the founder of MuslimPoet.com and its Webmaster. He is a prolific poet bringing his energetic style of poetry to numerous venues around the country. 
 
This Brooklyn native and New Jersey resident has been involved in the creative arts for almost two decades as a writer, actor, director, producer and performance poet.  For the past several years he has focused on Islamic poetry as one of several Muslim Poets showcasing the richness of the arts present in Islam.  Not one to be overly preachy Brother Dasham is unique in that his poetry has wide appeal to both Muslim and Non-Muslim audiences. In fact he recently started a spoken word poetry record label that received mainstream distribution in North American music and bookstores including Tower Records, Barnes & Noble and online at Amazon.com. 
 
He has received accolades from some of Islam’s top American scholars including Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, Dr. Umar Faruq Abdullah, Sheikh Abdullah Adhami and Imam Zaid Shakir amongst others and has performed at numerous venues around the country.
